Triplite is one of the rarest gemstones in the world. Serious gem collectors view Triplite as a must have in their personal collections. Triplite was discovered in 1813 in France. Most crystals are opaque and dark brown to brownish black in color. It's part of the monoclinic crystal system and has it's own family. Other varieties in the Triplite are Metatriplite and Talktriplite. Triplite is basically made up of Manganese, Iron, Magnesium, Calcium, Phosphate and Flouride Hydroxide.
Most gem quality Triplite is found in Pakison, which is the reddish orange transparent material. Even then, it's generally not a very clean gemstone. Triplite in general can be found in Africa, Europe, China and the US. Triplite gets its name from the greek word, Triplos alluding to it's 3 dinstinctive cleverages.
